Effective Questioning
Limited Capacity seats available

A Science teacher has a special role in bridging the gap between Science as knowledge and the real world. In order to become effective science teachers, we need to have some strategies and one of the strategies is to create effective questions that lead to improving the student’s higher order thinking skills. In general, asking a question is the essential key in gaining information. In classroom learning, social interaction among the students is sustained by questioning. During classroom instruction, teachers invariably ask many questions to guide their students to gather information and to promote learning. Questions have many purposes. For the teachers, questions allow them to determine how much a class understands the lesson and a question is also an important tool for managing the classroom; especially keeping the students alert and interested with the lesson. For the students, questions can help them to reflect on information and commit it to memory, plus it also can develop their thinking skills, encourage discussion and stimulate new ideas. Questioning is seen as an important pedagogy.
